Coming October 13: PIN Required for Libby and downloadLibrary
Starting October 13, 2026, you will need to enter your WPL PIN in addition to your library card number when logging into the Libby app and downloadLibrary website on your mobile device, computer or eReader.
What is changing?
You will use your WPL PIN along with your library card number to sign in to your account so you can borrow items, place holds, and manage your account.
Why will a PIN or password be required?
This update is part of OverDrive, our eBook vendor, efforts to enhance account security.
What do I need to do?
To avoid interruptions in borrowing eBooks, eaAudiobooks and eMagazines, make sure you know your library card number and PIN before October 13. If you are logged in to your Libby or download library account when the change happens, you will be logged out and asked to sign in again with your library card and PIN, just this one time. You’ll only need to enter your PIN and library card number again if you log out of your Libby or downloadlibrary account.
How do I reset my PIN?
If you don’t know your PIN, you can reset it:
- Through the online catalogue: on the My Account page, select “Forgot Your PIN?” and follow the prompts.
- By contacting us
- by phone: 519-886-1310;
- by email: hello@wpl.ca;
- in person at any WPL location.
