Paper Making
Learn how to make your own paper from scratch! During week 1 we’ll get messy when we make the paper (it starts out as wet mush!). Week 2 we will decorate our paper, and make the pages into notebooks, cards, or journals.
STEM Jeopardy
Join us to play STEM-themed Jeopardy in celebration of all things science! Test your knowledge in groups and battle for the title of STEM Champion.
Fibre Art
We’ll explore the many ways to create with fibre materials like sewing basics, macrame and crochet.
Intergenerational Tiny Creatures in Tins
This two-part series is a great opportunity for tweens and their favourite grown-ups to work as a team to create a tiny creature in a tin. In the first session you'll sew a tiny felt creature together by hand using felt and thread. Then in week two, you’ll decorate a cozy tin for the creature to live in. This is a unique kid and caregiver program that’s geared at building intergenerational relationships as you both learn something new together.

After School Code Club
Learn to code, or improve your coding skills with Fiero Code during this after school program. Fiero Code allows you to work at your own level to improve your coding and software design expertise.
Reading Buddies
Encourage a love of reading with this fun, interactive literacy program. Participants will pair up with a volunteer literacy tutor for guided reading sessions followed by language games and activities with the group.
Creative Writing Circle
Calling all young writers! We’ll be playing games related to creative writing, learning about styles of poetry, and trying out some fun writing prompts. Light snacks will be provided.
Number Ninjas
Have fun with math through this interactive educational program. Friendly volunteer tutors will work with children to explore mathematical concepts with fun activities and challenges.
ESQ STEM Autumn Club, Ages 6 to 8
Dive into the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with the Waterloo Engineering Outreach ESQ Community Team in this 4-week hands-on program! Unleash your creativity as you explore different technology, design innovative solutions to unique problems, and make lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts of STEM!
How to Be Human: Instructions for Another Planet
We’ve found a group of creatures who have never been to planet Earth and they need your help! Your task is to create a manual for these creatures to help them understand Earth, its systems, and the items we encounter everyday. Sharpen your critical thinking skills and cultivate creative problem solving capacities as you work to create your manual and help these special creatures acclimate to Earth.

Learn how to make a no-sew bag that’s perfect for storing all your stuff. All materials will be provided.

DIY Plate Designs with Sharpies
Explore your creative side by designing a side plate using Sharpie markers. These art pieces will need to be baked in an oven at home after the designs are complete, please let staff know if you do not have an oven.
