Ukulele Basics
About the Program
Discover the joy of the ukulele in this beginner-friendly program. Learn the basics of playing chords, simple strumming patterns, and a few easy songs to get you started. No experience needed—just enthusiasm and curiosity. Participants may bring their own ukulele or borrow one with a library card.
Messtival: Session 1
About the Event
Get creative, get curious, and get a little messy in this hands-on art program for kids and their grownups. Move between different activity stations and try out a variety of messy (but washable!) art materials as you go. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty - making messes is part of the fun. And since this is a true Messtival, everyone helps tidy up together as we rotate stations.

Furry Friends with Hands on Exotics
About the Program
The Furry Friends Program is a family-friendly educational experience that introduces participants to a variety of small animals. Guests will learn about animal characteristics and care while meeting two breeds of rabbits, a chinchilla, a hedgehog or guinea pig, and other furry animals. A bird or reptile may also be included to expand learning. This engaging program encourages curiosity and a respect for animals.
Escape Professor Oak's Lab: Pokémon Escape Room
About the Program
Professor Oak’s Pokémon Research Lab is in emergency lockdown after Team Rocket pressed the wrong buttons while trying to steal rare Pokémon data! The doors are sealed, the systems are offline, and the Pokémon inside need help. Trainers will work together to solve 8 Pokémon-themed challenges, restart the lab, and escape before the power runs out. Bring your problem-solving skills, teamwork, and Pokémon knowledge for this fast-paced, puzzle-filled adventure.
Glass Painting: Customize Your Own Cup
About the Program
Spend some time getting creative with friends while painting your own design on a glass, with music playing in the background picked by the group. This relaxed, hands-on workshop is all about experimenting, hanging out, and making something you can actually use—everyone will head home with one painted drinking glass to keep.
Outdoor Family Play Day
About the Program
Get outside and enjoy some fresh air at this family-friendly, outdoor drop-in designed to spark active play and exploration in late winter and early spring. Families can move between hands-on stations inspired by wildlife adaptations, sensory experiences, and creative play—perfect for curious kids and their grown-ups. Bundle up, dress for the weather, and get ready to play and explore together!
Exploring Augmented Reality
About the Program
Create something magical with this hands-on, drop-in Augmented Reality experience using the Quiver app. Start by colouring a page, then watch your artwork pop off the screen as a moving 3D character or scene - bringing creativity and technology together in a fun, playful way. All materials are provided, and you get to take your creations home with you.
Pet Hospital
About the Program
Bring your stuffie and role play medical scenarios. Kids will work through a variety of medical situations with their stuffie, including routine doctor’s visits, hospital activities (such as X-rays, vaccines, and medications) and health promotion stations (such as dental care, physical well-being, and hand hygiene).
