Drawing Techniques: Cartoons from Numbers
About the Program
What’s in a number? A lot of possibilities! In this Christopher Hart inspired cartooning program, we'll learn to draw cartoons using numbers as the basic structure for fun creatures. Participants will be guided through and shown how to create cartoons, and learn about the basics of lines in cartooning.
Scrubbing Away Beauty Standards & DIY Lip Scrub
About the Program
As we approach the end of the year, we'll take a moment to reflect on the beauty standards that stood out in 2025, as well as those from the past. We'll explore why these ideals might not be realistic or healthy. The central theme of our program is that beauty is subjective—a key message for tweens and teens to understand. Additionally, we'll highlight the importance of self-care, and participants will have the opportunity to create their own lip scrubs to take home.

Encourage a love of reading with this fun, interactive literacy program. Participants will pair up with a volunteer literacy tutor for guided reading sessions followed by language games and activities with the group.
Number Ninjas

Have fun with math through this interactive educational program. Friendly volunteer tutors will work with children to explore mathematical concepts with fun activities and challenges.
Engineering Science Quest: STEM Explorers Club

Dress in your pajamas and bring your favourite stuffed animal to the library for a special storytime. We’ll enjoy stories, songs, and fun together before you decide whether your stuffie will stay for an overnight sleepover in the library.

Tweens will tap into their inner creative through a mix of games, silly writing challenges, and fun ice breaker questions designed to spark imagination and laughter. Snacks will be provided to keep the ideas—and energy—flowing!
Stop Motion Animation
About the Program
Bring your stories to life through stop motion animation. Kids will use iPads and a simple stop motion app to create their very own short videos. With paper, clay, and other fun materials, they’ll design and build characters, set up scenes, and capture each frame to make their creations move. It’s a hands-on, creative experience perfect for budding filmmakers and imaginative minds.
