The WPL Summer Reading Club (in partnership with TD) inspires kids to explore the fun of reading – their own way!

DIVE IN

July 6 to August 13

The WPL Summer Reading Club (in partnership with TD) inspires kids to explore the fun of reading. Discovering stories their way is the perfect passport to building a lifelong love of books. The program is accessible to kids of all interests and abilities, and this year’s theme, DIVE IN, will make a big splash.

Stop by one of our Summer Reading Club Check-In Desks at any WPL location, where our Summer Reading Club facilitators will help you check in, enter weekly prize draws and earn your invite to the Make a Splash Party – where the fun washes ashore for the final celebration. Plus, dive into drop-in activities at each library location where there will be crafts and activities to enjoy. The water is warm, the books are waiting — jump in!

Kids ages 4 to 12 years old can visit one of our Summer Reading Club Check-In Desks at any WPL location between Monday, July 6 and Monday, August 10 to sign-up and start earning their rewards (please see desk hours below).

NOTE: Kids can continue to check in until Thursday, August 13.

How It Works

Visit our Check-in desk four times throughout the summer (Monday July 6 to Thursday August 13) to earn a ticket to one of our Make a Splash Parties.

Every week, bring your Splash Pass marked with 4 days of reading – a minimum of 15 minutes per day – to the Check-in Desk to earn a ballot for our weekly draw. Spin our very special Bubble Machine at any location for a chance to do a fun challenge.

    Our Check-In Desks (Summer Reading Club desks) will be open during these hours. The desk times below apply for all WPL locations.

  • Splash Pass

    Each week you will receive a new Splash Pass to help you track your reading. Bring your Splash Pass to one of our Summer Reading Club Check-in Desks each week. If you’ve read for 15 minutes a day for 4 days, you’ll earn a ballot for our Weekly Prize Draw!

  • Weekly Themes

    Each week, there will be pop-up activities and a new Splash Pass based on the weekly theme. Check out the activity themes below:

  • Make a Splash Parties

    After 4 visits to our Check-In Desks, you will be invited to join us for one of our Make a Spalsh SRC Parties taking place on Saturday, August 15 or Saturday, August 22. Parties are not branch-specific – register for one (1) party date that works best for you.

    Register for one of the party dates as soon as you visit 4 times at the Check-In Desk. More information will be provided after your 4th visit.

  • Prizes

    Track your reading on your Splash Pass to get ballots for our Weekly Prizes.

  • Pop-Up Programs

    Enjoy special drop-in programs based on our weekly themes from July 6 to August 20. Children must be accompanied by an adult while participating in a drop-in program.
