About the Event
Enjoy a cozy evening of poetry and conversation with local KW poet R.K. Gandhi. Ravi will share readings from his newly released book Hope in the Black Hole and offer insight into his creative process, from inspiration to the page. The evening will include time for listening, reflection, and a Q&A with the author. Copies of the book will be available for purchase directly from the writer, with signing to follow.
Poetry Writing Workshop & Breathwork Exercise
About the Program
This hands-on poetry writing workshop invites both first-time and experienced writers to explore their creativity with guidance from local poet R.K. Gandhi, author of the newly released Hope in the Black Hole. Participants will work through a variety of writing prompts and practical tips, then take part in a gentle breathwork exercise designed to support grounding, focus, and relaxation. Please bring a yoga or exercise mat if you have one.
White Questions, Black Answers with Author Grace Ibrahima
About the Event
Children often have a lot going on, with a multitude of questions running through their minds. Enjoy a warm and inclusive afternoon with local Community Changemaker Grace Ibrahima, writer of the book White Questions, Black Answers: Helping Kids to be Seen and Heard. Grace will be Auntie for the afternoon and answer all respectful questions young participants have about skin colour, racism, bigotry, discrimination, and general curiousity.

About the Event
Settle in for an evening of conversation and poetry with authors Susan Wismer and Melinda Burns. The poets will discuss their newest collections - Hag Dances and Homecoming - and share selected readings, offering insight into their creative processes and themes. The discussion will be moderated by author Tanis MacDonald and will leave space for reflection and audience connection. Books will be available for purchase, and a signing with the authors will take place following the event.
