About the Program
Calling all Graphic Novel fans: we’re making an after-school reading space just for you! This fun program for tweens will help build literacy skills and give participants an opportunity to share in a structured environment to focus on reading. Optional prompts will be provided to encourage reading comprehension that builds upon the hour spent reading among peers. Participants will be able to discuss books amongst themselves, though there is no obligation to do so. Register to join your new favourite monthly reading hangout because, as we all know, How Many Nights A Week Should You Be Reading? 6-7!

Polymer Clay Critters
About the Program
Sculpt your very own clay critter using colourful polymer clay! Create anything you can imagine, from cute creatures to tiny monsters or magical animals. We’ll bake your creations on-site so they’re ready to take home the same day. While your critter is in the oven, get creative designing and building a cozy home for it to live in. All materials will be provided—just bring your imagination!

Launch, Throw, Jump: Kinetic Energy
About the Program
Join us as we celebrate all things motion, movement, and momentum in this kinetic lab for STEM explorers. Participants will be launching paper planes in a paper airplane throwing air show, and sending toy cars down a ramp to see how high and far they jump! Program attendees will learn about kinetic energy and potential energy through these exciting physics experiments.
Exploring Simple Robots

Get hands-on with beginner-friendly robotics tools like Cubelets, littleBits, and Ozobots. Experiment, tinker, and discover how each system works through open-ended play—no assignments or structured lessons required. No coding knowledge needed; just plug, play, and figure things out as you go!
Free Play Saturday

Free Play Saturday is a relaxed drop-in space just for tweens and teens to hang out and have fun. A mix of tabletop games, puzzles, and large-format games will be available, with options for both active competition and quieter, chill participation. Whether you’re looking to challenge friends, try something new, or simply unwind, this is your space to connect, play, and spend your Saturday your way.
Rubik's Cube Quest

Love puzzles? Join us in our quest to solve the Rubik's cube, try out new solving techniques, and even explore speed-cubing skills. Bring your own cube or use one we provide—no experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your problem-solving skills, and your love of puzzles!
Speak Up! Debate Games

Get ready to think fast, speak up, and have some fun! This program gives tweens a chance to explore cool topics, share opinions, and try out their public‑speaking skills in a laid‑back, supportive space. We’ll play debate‑style games, do quick challenges, and have goofy (but respectful!) discussions that get everyone talking.

Pollination Station
About the Program
For Earth Day, help pollinators and learn how your garden can make a difference! In this fun, hands-on program for tweens, participants will discover how to create backyard spaces that support bees, butterflies, and other helpful insects. They'll learn why pollinators matter, how to make a garden more inviting for them, and why insects aren’t as scary as they seem.
LEGO Lab

Let your imagination run wild with LEGO®! Kids will have access to a variety of LEGO bricks to build anything they can dream up, from towering creations to intricate designs. Take part in fun LEGO challenges that test creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. It’s a hands-on, playful program where kids can build, experiment, and share their creations with friends.

Drama Llamas
About the Program
This program is all about big energy, bold ideas, and lots of laughs! Play fun improv and theatre games while creating characters, stories, and scenes together in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Build confidence, creativity, and teamwork skills—no scripts, memorization, or experience required.
Cardboard Chair Design Challenge
About the Program
If you build it, they will sit! Engineers, design aficionados, and makers are all welcome at this program for kids and tweens. Cardboard materials will be provided, and building guidance will be offered for attendees. Participants will be able to take their creations with them after the program concludes. Program attendees are also encouraged to bring their grownup to join in the engineering fun.
