Getting Started

  • Available for use at the Eastside Branch
  • A Waterloo Public Library card is required to use the art printer
  • Cost: $10 per print (8.5 x 11″)
  • Material: archival, fade-resistant paper
  • Customers must be 13 years of age or older or accompanied by an adult
  • The art printer is available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Projects must be completed at least 30 minutes before closing
  • Files must be accessed from a public computer (USB or online)
  • Files must be compatible with the Windows Photos app (common formats include JPG, PNG, RAW, and PDF)
  • Customers are responsible for paying for all sheets printed
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring their files meet copyright and usage requirements

  • How to Use

    Sending a Print to the Art Printer

    1. Log on to an available public computer with your valid Waterloo Public Library card.
    2. Open your art file from your storage device or online cloud system and download it to computer.
    3. Use File Explorer to navigate to your downloaded files.
    4. Right-click on your file and select > Open With > Photos (this will open your art file in the Photos Viewer).
    5. Edit the image in Photos viewer, as needed.
    6. Click on the printer icon in Photos.
    7. Select the appropriate printer – ART PRINTER $10 DOLLARS per page.
    8. Select the Print button.
    9. Release your print job from the Print Release Station.
    10. Pay cash through the printer coin box or pay by card with staff.

    Printed instruction sheets are also available with the machine when you arrive at the library.

  • Helpful Tips

    Prints dry quickly, but they require 24 hours to fully cure. Be careful when handling prints in the meantime.

    It might be a good idea to bring a protective sleeve to transport your print home.
