All Waterloo Public Library locations will be closed on Thursday, November 20 for a Staff Development Day. Regular hours will resume on Friday, November 21.
During the closure:
- External return drop boxes will remain open.
- Holds pick-ups will not be available, but all holds will be extended by one day to make up for the closure.
About Staff Development Day
During Staff Development Day we learn, connect, and grow as a team so we can better serve our community.
This year’s theme, “Sharing Today, Shaping Tomorrow,” reminds us that the work we do together now helps shape the library’s future. Throughout the day, staff will:
- Explore Truth and Reconciliation through story, art, and shared experience.
- Participate in activities to strengthen communication, collaboration, and workplace culture.

Learn about the power of AI tools and how they can enhance the way we support our community.
