Explore the online edition of The New York Times for free with your Waterloo Public Library card. Access includes the U.S., International, Canadian, Spanish, and Chinese editions of The New York Times. Explore news, videos, and audio content, as well as some games and Wirecutter. Please note that a separate subscription is required for the Crossword puzzle, Cooking, and The Athletic.
To access The New York Times IN the library:
- Go to wpl.ca
- Click on Online Resources
- Click on eReading & Streaming
- Scroll down to The New York Times and click on Use Inside Library
- Create an account for The New York Times by clicking Log In and entering your email address and a password. If you already have an account for The New York Times, enter your account information instead.
- You are now ready to browse the news, read articles, play games, and more!
To access The New York Times OUTSIDE the library:
- Go to wpl.ca
- Click on Online Resources
- Click on eReading & Streaming
- Scroll down to The New York Times and click on Use Outside Library
- Click on Redeem to redeem your access code. Access codes are good for 72 hours, you must redeem the code every 72 hours to access the New York Times away from the library
- Select your account when prompted, or Create an account.
- Click Continue to continue through the account setup.
