What You Need to Know

Starting Monday, November 17, 2025 the Main Library will undergo plumbing and construction work on the lower level. The good news: the Main Library will remain open throughout the entire project, which is expected to last 4–6 weeks, and impact to customers will be minimal.

What Areas Will Be Affected?

  • The work is happening on the lower level – the Auditorium, Board Room and two lower-level public washrooms will be unavailable during this time.
  • At least one public washroom will always be available, including the washroom in the Dupont St. Lobby.
  • Library programs or events scheduled to be held in the Auditorium or Board Room during the construction period may be moved to another area within the Main Library, moved to another WPL location or possibly re-scheduled. We will provide updates as details are confirmed.

Will It Be Noisy?

  • Most of the work will be low-noise and there will be minimal impact to customers experience at the library.

Parking

  • There may be a few days of minor parking disruptions. We will share updates accordingly.
