What should I read next? Every reader approaches the end of their current book and faces that daunting question. You would think that with easy access to countless lists, websites and recommendations that the decision would get easier. What is the latest on BookTok? What does Reese Witherspoon think I should read? Even our library has a fresh batch of Featured Reads every season. The problem, of course, is that readers are as varied as the books that are available. Not everyone enjoys the same type of book. The explosion of romantasy novels may delight their devoted fanbase, but what about those of us seeking a nice, cozy mystery set in a small English seaside town?
Here at the library, we are always happy to guide our customers to the book that suits them, using the many tools that we have available. Our next book chat will provide an opportunity to do just that. Join in an evening discussion of what was hot in 2025, what we can look forward to in 2026, and fresh ideas on how to search for your next read. We will also look at some celebrity book lists and trends that have been dominating the bestseller lists. Feel free to share your latest read, what you are most looking forward to reading, or just listen to the discussion. We will end our evening with a short list of books that may have missed the limelight in 2025 but are worth a second look.
