February is Library Lovers Month and, as part of this, each year we celebrate Customer Appreciation too. There are a few special happenings planned for the month of February:

Let's Get Personal - for the entire month, at all WPL locations, we will be collecting donations of personal hygiene products on behalf of the Waterloo Wayside Centre. This is the 3rd year we have partnered with this amazing group in UpTown Waterloo. Learn more

Why Do You Love the Library? - starting Monday, February 3 and running for the rest of the month there will be paper hearts and pens at each locations, generally close to the main entrances. Customers are encouraged to write what the library means to them on a paper heart. Each year hundreds (and hundreds) of hearts are submitted full of heart-felt messages. There will be dishes of candy located by the paper hearts as a "thank you for participating" treat, while supplies last.

Fine Forgiveness Days - customers who visit any WPL location in person on Friday, February 14 and/or Saturday, February 15 will have any overdue fines (old and new!) waived. Have any overdue items still at home? Bring those in and your fines will be waived. Have overdue fines from long, long ago? Visit your favourite WPL location and we’ll waive those fines too. Cooooookies! - on Saturday, February 15th we will have heart-shaped sugar cookies from Norris Bakery in Kitchener at each location (while supplies last) as a special treat for our customers.

Book Bag Giveaway - on Saturday, February 22nd we will be giving away book bags at all locations. Supplies are limited.

Social Media Contests - randomly during February, we will be giving away 4 (four) prizes on social media. These include 2 - $25 UpTown Dollars vouchers, 1 - $10 voucher plus a booklovers mug, and 1 - $10 voucher and adorable book sloth socks. Follow the library on Instagram, Facebook and/or Twitter to take part.
