Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month is a month-long celebration for the duration of October. It honors the rich cultural and historical contributions of Hispanic and Latinx cultures, encompassing the diverse heritage, traditions, and achievements of people with roots in Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean.
During this time, various events, festivals, and educational programs are held to recognize and appreciate the significant impact of Hispanic and Latinx communities.

PD Day Fun: Day of the Dead / El Día de los Muertos

All day, all WPL locations
Spend your day off from school at the library and learn about the Day of the Dead / el Día de los Muertos – a festival widely observed in Mexico to remember and celebrate loved ones! Each WPL location will have a number of do-it-yourself activities available, including colouring, a scavenger hunt and a craft available all day long.
