Holiday Card Drive

This year, we are coming together to make sure everyone feels the holiday spirit. Our Teen Events Team is organizing a Holiday Card Drive and we need your help! Make a card (or several) for an older adult in our community who may be feeling isolated during the pandemic. Our goal is to collect as many holiday cards as we possibly can between Tuesday, November 23 to Friday, December 17

  1. Make a homemade card (or several) or use pre-bought cards.
  2. Sign the cards with a lovely message to an older adult in our community.
  3. Drop your card(s) off at any WPL location between Tuesday, November 23 and Friday, December 17 in the designated Holiday Card Drive baskets. If you have any trouble locating the designated card baskets at your library location, ask our library staff for assitance. *No postage is neccessary on your card(s) and if they come with envelopes, please leave them unsealed.
  4. We will do the rest and make sure the cards are delivered to long-term care and retirement homes in our community to help spread the cheer this holiday season.

For more information or to find out how you can get involved, please contact Mariah at 519-886-1310 x133 or by email at

Please note: If you are visiting the library, please remember to follow all COVID-19 protocols, including wearing a mask and social distancing.

Due to the overwhelming response from our amazing community we have upped our goal to 5000 cards. Follow along with our progress below.
