Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity to learn, reflect on, and appreciate the achievements and contributions of Canadians of Asian descent to the growth and prosperity of Canada.

The month of May was chosen by the Government of Canada in May 2002 as the official month of Asian Heritage Month after adopting the proposal of Senator Vivienne Poy, the first appointed Asian Senator in Canada. Learn more about Asian Heritage Month in Canada.
