Catherine Cookson

Dame Catherine Cookson died just days before her 95th birthday (1998), but the popularity of her books lives on.

Even though her first novel was not published until almost halfway through her life, Dame Catherine sold more than 100 million books in 30 different countries. If you enjoy Cookson’s family sagas set against the backdrop of Britain in the 19th century, you’ll enjoy the tales by these authors too.
