Candy with "I love libraries" on it

Each February, we celebrate not only Library Lovers Month at WPL but customer appreciation. We have over 60,000 active members at Waterloo Public Library and we want them to know they are appreciated.

And, as is tradition at WPL in February, we are holding our 4th annual Toasty Toes Sock Drive for the Homeless. Help us reach our goal of collecting 3000 pairs of socks to share with those in need in our community. Collection bins will be available at all WPL locations from February 1 to 28.

As a thank you to our enthusiatic, supportive members, we have a few fun things planned in February.

Sweet Treats: when you visit the library, write on a paper heart why you love the library and enjoy a sweet treat on us

Cookie Day: did you know February 14th isn't just Valentine's Day, it's Library Lovers Day! To celebrate we will be handing out delicious heart-shaped sugar cookies from Norris Bakery at all locations (while supplies last).

Pop-up Contests: follow us on Twitter @waterloolibrary and like us on Facebook @waterloolibraryON We'll be holding pop-up contests throughout the month of February. You could win a great prize like UpTown Dollars, a gift card or a pedometer.

Guessing Contest: at the Main Library we will be filling a display case in the Dupont Street lobby with socks donated by our customers. How many socks will it take to fill the case? Submit a ballot with your guess. The person who guesses correctly (or closest) will win a prize.

As always, we thank you for your continued support of Waterloo Public Library. We hope you enjoy Library Lovers Month & Customer Appreciation.
