Blogs & More @ WPL

A blog, short for weblog, traditionally are an online journal or newsletter which typically consists of short, frequently updated stories with links to news items and websites. A blog may also be used as a micro-website. Blogs are popular for all ages and are very user- friendly.

We have 5 blogs at WPL:

WPL Reads

WPL Reads is a blog where our staff post what they’re reading or viewing, and suggest new good reads. We hope to introduce you to some new titles and authors, or perhaps to reacquaint you with an old favourite.

WPL Book Clubs

You are welcome to attend meetings of our book clubs in person or just share thoughts online about the books we are reading.

Summer Reading Club for Kids

Over 2000 children participate in the Summer Reading Club each year, having fun, joining in our many programs, winning prizes and reading thousands of awesome books.

Waterloo Reads

Each October, WPL hosts  “Waterloo Reads” to highlight the ten Evergreen-nominated books. Special guests took turns championing the 10 books, with attendees voting for their favourite at the end of the evening. Visit the blog to learn more.

After Hours @ The Library

After Hours @ The Library, WPL’s signature fundraiser, is a dynamic, inspirational evening featuring local speakers who shared anecdotes from their extraordinary life experiences. Delicious food and drink is provided by local restaurants and caterers, and fantastic raffle prizes are donated by local businesses. It is a night to remember.

At WPL, we are social!
