Grocery Tapes (Zehrs)
Since 1993 customers have generously donated their Zehrs grocery tapes to Waterloo Public Library.
The tapes are tallied by a volunteer and exchanged for cash donations from the grocery store chain. Monies raised from the Zehrs tapes is used to purchase recorded books and large print books.
As of January 2008, we’ve submitted enough Zehrs grocery tapes to be reimbursed over $19,500.00.
Flat and unrolled grocery tapes can also be deposited in the designated boxes at each of the Main Library entrances and at the McCormick Branch.
WPL also has a collection box at the Beechwood Zehrs from the end of July to the end of October (Zehrs rotates the organizations so that more groups have an opportunity for in-store collection).
Unfortunately, we can not accept ValuMart, Sobeys or The Real Canadian Superstore tapes.
Thank you for your overwhelming support of the Zehrs grocery tape program here at WPL!
