Free Lecture Series: Community Lit: American Nature Writing

nhwinterThis course, being held at the John M. Harper Branch (500 Fischer-Hallman Road North, Waterloo) will explore what it means to be part of a community and to be part of a place.

In Community Lit we will be discussing nature: the ways in which nature is articulated in books, essays and possibly some poetry, and the way our linguistic choices and invested narratives frame our perspectives and our individual sense of belonging.

Hosted by Jennifer Doyle from the University of Waterloo.

The course takes place every Thursday, from January 12 to March 15, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

To register for this free course, contact Sharon Whittle at 519-886-1310 ext. 314.
